Installing the sub to box
Hi, I just bought this sub box (Dual 10' Square Cutout Painted Baffle
http://www.halfpricecaraudio.com/Dua...sure-Black.htm and I a little confused on how to mount the subs to them.
Do I drill through both the baffle and the spot it rides on? or do I install the sub to the baffle first? And do I need to use sealant between the baffle and the box, and if so what kind?
Thanks

Many subs come with rubber gaskets that go over the rim to seal the sub to the box, Kickers included I believe. No need for more gasket.
First step is to wire the subs to the boxes wire terminals.
Second- set the subs in the opening and screw them down.. Wherever the screw openings in the subs basket are...Screw there..
You can predrill if you'd like, or even use nuts and bolts if you plan of removing them alot.

I believe that is a cosmetic cover. If you mount the sub to the box will it fit over top nicely?

LOL.. marketing period..
I understand the original q I think now. Glue that sucker down.. Double baffling is good, but best if its solid. The screws you hold the subs on with, will need to penetrate into the second layer all the way if you don`t glue it down.. Do both..

Okay now I am confused, which way should i do it? Use the "baffle" as a cover or clue it to the box and mount the amp to it. They both look like they would work.
Thats what it looks like using it as a cover
This is what it looks like mounting on top of it
Since this "baffle" is about 1/2 thick that would add more volume to my box too wouldn't it?
Whats your guy's suggestions.
