Exclamation ipod hook up for alpine cda-7897

i have an alpine cda-7897 head unit with the extractable oversized faceplate (2004 i believe?) and was wondering if there is a way to hook up an ipod (touch) in any way other than through an fm transmitter? i read somewhere that through the auxilary output (cd changer) there is a cord available to hook up either to an ipod or to just a headphone jack. however i am unable to find such cable. thanks

Alpine kca-420i ipod adaptor should work fine, or something like this:

ALPINE TO IPOD CAR AUX INPUT CABLE ADAPTOR ADAPTER CORD - (eBay.ca item 320311371841 end time 16-Mar-09 08:08:19 EDT)

or this:

not sure about the touch either...though I'd assume it does work given that they all use the same docking connector. I'd imagine the basics of the signal are the same, just the software and display/interaction is diifferent for the touch.

i think the third one you put there would be my best bet because i do not believe my cda-7897 has that ai-net or whatever it is which requires that goofy pronged cd changer cord. thanks ill probably end up getting that one off ebay.

all Alpine decks that have an "a" in the first 3 letters...cda, dva, etc...are ai-net decks.
