Has anyone seen leather done as part of an install? I'm talking about custom panel covering and trim work.

It's been done although not too entirely much. Basically, it's hard to stitch, may not wear all that well (depends on quality) and doesn't stretch well either. Probably best used on flat panels.

Yes, but whomever is working with the hide has to really know what they are doing. And rather expensive and doesn't wear to well in a car environment in the wear and tear areas of a daily driver. Smells awesome though !!!

Haven't you seen that bread comercial where a guy peels a banana and ets the peel; a woman cracks a hard boiled egg and eats the shell; a guy eats orange peels etc. . .
The point of that comercial is don't eat the outside, eat the inside where the nutrients are. The same goes for car audio - don't use the skin, use the inside. Forget about leather, do some custom work with steak or ground beef! You'll give the farmers a hand too eh?

I don't know what to say about that^

But for anybody interested in leather, you can buy just the leather scent in concintrate form. Dilute it and wipe down your vinyl to really confuse people.

Human skin works very well too. You just need to shellac it a bit.

Seriously though, a buddy of mine is an upholsterer and he knows what he's doing. It does take more skill and time/effort than your standard vinyl but it pays of IMO.
