hey guys, new to forums, didn't know a godly place existed, anyways, i just basically replaced my entire stereo system, and am looking for some expertise on exactly where to put each wire, I Have drawn up to the best of my abilities my current configuration, i don't at the moment have any distributer blocks to split up power so if i need `1 just draw it in where necessary . Thnx !

From what I have read and understood, there is no point in having a cap in the system if you have a deep cycle battery already placed in the trunk.

even with the deep cycle and a 1.2 farad cap my lights still dim on hard bass notes, now i had it proffessionaly installed the first time so i know the wiring isnt messed, so now that im upgrading amp power, i think i will surly need the cap

i like your idea of the main power going to the deep cycle, that meens it draws directly from 2 batterise thus most likly eliminating the need for a cap, but it came with the amp, and it lights up a pretty bad *** show when connected, so i would rather use it, the deep cycle was put in place for longer battery life when i go camping in the summer and having the stereo pounding hour after hour, its really adds major lifetime

whatever comes stock in a V4 2.4L 1999 grand am SE would be the alt i have, not too sure, I'll admit 90% of ppl say caps are useless, or don't stop the dimming, its your alternator, and so be it, but it came "free" when i bought the amp, so im mostly installing it for show, stopping dimming isn't a major concern, putting every wire in the right spot is

do the big 3 under the hood as matt said. It will help with dimming lights. I would do what matts drawing shows. He may like to suck on squirrel nutz, but he draws real good
