Line output converter or amps high level setting

Hi, I am installing a Kicker ZX1000.1 mono amp in my cobalt ss. I don't want to purchase a new head unit for it at this time so I would like to install it to the stock unit. The stock unit doesn't have pre-amp outputs so I was told I need a line output converter. The amp has dual input sensitivity differential rca inputs which can deal with high or low. So my question is what would be better, using a line output converter or using the high setting on the amp? And another question I have is either one I use do I splice the two front and two rear speaker wire comming out of the unit into two rca females?

IMO if the amp will take high level directly then there is no point for a basic LOC.
