Minimum amount of connections in order for headunit to power up?

To make a long story short, I didn't receive a harness with a recent purchase of a Pioneer Premier FH-800 BT... I ordered a Metra harness from a local retailer which fit the headunit perfectly. The OEM harness is in the mail from the vendor, but I'm impatient...

I'm installing this into a 2003 Chevy S10 with a completely hacked to shreads stock harness (Thank you previous owner)...

So what I want to do is this... I'd like to make sure the headunit at least powers up before I start wiring all the speaker wires, etc... I just need someone to confirm what I'm thinking... I need Constant 12V, Switched 12V (Accessory) and ground correct? (I'm assuming I can use the ground within the trucks harness and not run a chassis ground)

You can take the two power wires together(should be a red and a yellow) and put them to positive on battery, and negative the same, you can do this under the hood for ease if u just wanna power it up verify it works. Just make sure you power wire is fused.

Also a good trick to finding each pair of speaker leads is to use a 9v battery and one by one attatch wires til you hear sound from speaker. Cant seem to find a wiring chart for your truck but your welcome to check here to see if you can find something. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/vehicles.html

car side should be
black-ground
orange-constant +12 volts
yellow or pink- ignition switched ??? dont rememeber its been a while
brown - dimmer + test by turning lights off and on and also dimming

speakers
driver side front tan(+) and gray(-)
driver side rear brown(+) and yellow(-)
passenger front light green(+) and dark green(-)
passenger rear dark blue(+) and light blue(-)

hope that helps... always measure your power wires and speaker wires with a DVM before making connections there are multiples of certain colors in the car side of the harness and definately dont want to be connecting the brown dimmer wire to a speaker output from the deck

Thanks guys! I've got the wiring schematics for the truck luckily...

Orange is 12v constant, green is 12v switched (weird I know), and black is well... ground, lol.

I tried today and got nada, not a thing from the head unit at all. I'll give it a shot directly off the battery tomorrow...

Most of em are destined to be paper weights anyways lol, specially bose!
Think they had tested those with 110 sheets with a wind speed of 82.5 mph, amp weighs 1.2 lbs, i think they may have over rated lol

Looks like this head unit is DOA. I tested the leads out from the harness and had everything hooked up correctly. Head unit won't power up, no display, no noise, no nothing..

What a pain in the *** this has become.
