Need advice on install 12in DVC SUB 350wts

Wiring to an MTX 895.5 on the subchannel.

These are the amp specs:

MTX Car Audio - Thunder895 Amplifier

Your help would be appreciated. I'm hoping to optimize the sound and loudness as well without destroying it or having it distort.

Thankyou.

I see some people have read my post but no-one with imput?

I've searched and found the sub can only be wired for 2ohm or 8 ohm.

My amp is supposed to be 2ohm stable but at 460 watts, would I be overpowering this sub?. What would happen running at 8ohm?

Comeon experts. I'm a newb who needs advice.

Thanks guys.

If your amp is stable at 2 ohms, it is fine to run it at that impedence. It is always better to overpower the sub than to underpower it since it is typically distortion that kills subs rather than too much power. Just be careful with the volume **** and listen carefully for sounds that indicate the sub may be overworked.

Your first post probably got no response since you didn't ask any specific questions; it is hard to give advice when you don't know exactly what someone needs help with.

Underpowering is not a bad thing if you have a high quality amp. I have 2000 rms sub running of a 500 watt peak amp for two years and sounds just as good as ever, and i burb it once a month or so at comps. When i had a 3000 watt peak amp which was of lower brand quality it sounded like s**t. It all depends on different factors, ohm load, voltage, and signal. Others can disagree and thats fine because they all have different experiences im just telling you mine.
