Need help with box

Not sure if this is in the right section but here goes:

I'm going to build a box for my 2006 Kicker 15" Solo Baric L7.

I want to make it a slotted box. I started out with the dimensions for the slot from the kicker booklet that came with the sub.
SO basically I want a 6.0 ft3 box. It wouldn't be that hard to do BUT the port is to be:

3.5" x 16.25" (8.9x41cm) port, 13.75" (35cm) long..
now my problem is

if i want to make the box fit under my lid on my truck in the box then it can only be 17" tall and 16.25 + 1.5" (mdf) is 17.75" wont fit
now I only have 20" for depth also. so its all gotta be made up in width.

the dimensions i have/need 17" tall x 20" deep x ?" wide
id like the box to be max cubic feet so 6ft3
and id like the slot to be the same volume or whatever it needs to be to aquire the proper size so i get optimum output.

if this is still a little confusing feel free to ask questions
THANKS IN ADVANCE

Yeah, I can go to somewhere around 50 wide if needed.

port area = doesn't matter how you get it, just make sure you have the same area ..... ie. 2" x 10" is the same as 4" x 5".

port length = all you need is length, you can have turns in the port to get the length.
