Need help installing cap, amp and subwoofer.

Okay I got a 2 forad capacitor that I got a Tsunami one, but it says I have to connect it to the positive and negative of my battery???? Should I?

It didn't even come with half decent directions so I'm not too sure as to whats going on with that...

I also have to figure out how to get that big 4 gauge wire to my trunk, I can't imagine being able to get two back there.. I tried locating my firewall and having no luck.

Also for my 1000watt rms alpine type-x subwoofer.. could I just go to audio video 2001 and get a half decent ported box?

Thanks for the help if you can help me!

Where in Scarborough are you? Intersection? The price you are going to pay for a "half decent" ported box should be directed to a box built to spec. The difference will be night and day.

How much do you plan on spending on the box?

And I wouldn't be able to make it there and back during my lunch hour unfortunately :P LoL. Although not too far from me. I can stop by at some point and just give you some pointers if you plan on doing it yourself and just want a bit of guidance.. Unfortunately I'm still working on my own install as I only get a few hours at a time

Why thanks Slaughter :P well all I really need to know is how to get the wire to the truck without being seen.. and also why my cap needs to be connected to the battery via positive and negative.. that'd be such a pain.

I'll spend maybe $80-$100 for a box.

I believe you can just ground the cap to the frame but don't quote me on that one. The positive is a given however.

$80-$100 *should* get you a box built to spec. Have you contacted anyone regarding building a box? I would take the time and get it done right especially while the car is just sitting anyways.

hahaha.. It's decent for my daily.. Hoping to finish installing the rear speakers tonight.. and then it's just a small modification to the wiring to my mono amp.

Then I just want to get some custom mounts for my tweeters :P LoL

Voyagers, I mean Caravans, are the way to go lol. Surprised your doing rear speakers. I was thinking of doing the same but I chose against it only because the sound I hear is mostly from front speakers, so unless they're directed towards you I can't see how it would improve the sound, unless you carry people around all the time, but I only care about what I hear lol. Either way I'd really like to get a chance to see what it looks and sounds like Slaughter, plus it will give me a chance to see if I'm the loudest minivan in East York lol

The first and most important question is do you have a garage to work in? LOL I would be more than willing to stop by on a Saturday and give you a hand to do the install and even build a custom box to exact specs for your sub. We would need a place to work in though.
