Need help with wiring...05 srt-4...
I am new to this so i would really appreciate any help....well i have an 05 srt-4 that has a factory kicker system in it...now i have decided to upgrade it...but i am not sure how to put everything together...this is what i have:
HU: Kenwood KDC-X891 (3 preouts)
AMP #1: Kicker ZX400.1
AMP #2: Kicker ZX350.4
Sub: 10" Pioneer TSW257D4 350rms
Crossover: Kicker KX2 (2 way)
the crossover is confusing me....the deck has a sub out....do i use it if i am running a crossover? the crossover has one input, so what output should i use on the deck? i am thinking it has to be a full range out correct (front or rear)?
Thanks!

now if i dont go through the crossover i go "sub out" to the mono block?
and rear out to the 4ch amp?
what in case if i a go with the crossover? what output to the crossover?
Here are the specs on the crossover:
Gold-Plated Preamp Inputs & Outputs with Speaker Level Inputs
Adjustable Input / Output Levels
Crossover Type: 2-Way 2-Channel
Crossover Freq. Range: 40-300 Hz
Continuously Variable at 18 dB/octave
Maximum Input / Output Level: 5 volts RMS
Signal to Noise Ratio: >110dB
Thanks

Hello,
I would go see a professinal to give you guidance. Tell him you are installing it yourself, bring some paper and a pen...get his advice but I would also bring him Tim Horton or a six pack of beer for his troubles. Your system seems pretty cool, but is probably alittle compicated for a free timer...my 2 cents.

everything you need crossover wise is already in the kenwood deck. just run your front and rear rca's to the 4 channel (nice amp, i run the same one) and the sub out to your 400.1.
and whoever told you that you have to have one to get good SQ is full of

Agreed with both above posters, it will add nothing to you system, only potentially take away, you got had by sales folk.
the deck and the amps both have the same or better xover in them (4 channel only 12/slope yipeee) haven't looked into the deck, but it has 5v preouts which is about the only thing that crossover offers anyway.
So now you get to tell us in your research how that thing is needed specially in an SQ application, then we can all learn at the same time. (not being a smart *** here, just trying to learn as always).

agreed.
that deck is actually pretty decent. you dont need the KX2 at all.
