Need info on porting sub from box into cab
#1
Well ive decided to put a subbox in the truckbox and port it into the cab... can anyone give me sum tips b4 i do this? is there anything i have to take into consideration, like size of hole? the sub im using is in my sig, and i think im goin to go with a bandpass box... due to space limitations in the cab, i digure this will work out better. also i was thinkin of goin with a hole that is 120mm in diameter, to big or to small?

do you have the original spl12 or the spl12n (with the flat dust cap)
if you have the spl12n I have the box specs from soundstream in PDF format ......it's a 220kb file, would you like me to e-mail it to you
here's the specs on the bandpass box they recomend
sealed rear chamber
1 cubic foot net = 1728 cubic inches + woofer displacement 200 cubic inches =1928 cubic inches or 1.12 cubic feet total
ported front chamber
1.5 cubic feet net = 2593 cubic inches + 3 ports (4" round x 11.25" long) 512.8 cubic inches = 3104.8 cubic inches or 1.8 cubic feet total
since you'll need to pull the ports out of the box a bit to run em into the cab you'll have to figure out how much port volume is left in the box and adjust accordingly
