Need urgent help in installation
I just purchased two 12” type r (old models) 500rms each dual 2 ohm vc for my trans am. I have a 4 channel amp im hooking up to the suround speakers but I havnt bought a sub amp yet. I have 4 gauge wire running all the way back to the amp and a 1 farad cap. I have about $120 left for an amp and might buy one used so my first question is, should I use my capacitor instead of a distribution block and if so how would I wire that to the two amps?/where would I ground them? and the second is could a boss r2400d run my subs? I want to hook these up asap so PLEASE HELP! thank you

Using a cap doesn't stop you from needing a distribution/fuse block.
- side of the cap goes to Ground. Very solid ground. You ask where to ground it? The chassis of the car is ground. I like to drill and Tap, scrape paint down to metal, then use a stainless bolt.
+ side of the cap, gets your Battery + as an input and the output to the distribution/fuse block. 2 amps, you need a 2 way fuse block, so you can use an appropriate size fuse for each.
- side of the amps go to ground, use same size or larger wire than power.
Yes, that amp will work. You'll need to hook up the remote power-on to both amps.
And you need the remote sub level run to wherever you want the control on the dash.

I am happy to see that bad advise is still being shared here so freely.
Never fuse between the cap & the amp. It's like not having a cap because you will stifle the ability to fire power to the amp.
As for the amps that you're looking at...you get what you pay for.
Maybe try buying local, something used...

Im shocked that nobody has said it yet...caps are generally not considered a good solution, especially for a problem that you dont even know you have.
I would skip the cap, powering the amp directly off either a distribution block or a brand new power cable. Check the stats on what gauge wire to use. There is a chart:

to see if you need thicker cable. 4 gauge split to two 8 gauges might not be thick enough depending on power.
EDIT: yes that amp will work according to its specs. Not sure that I would trust a BOSS amp that claims 1600 watts with such a small footprint and price. There was a time when you wqould expect to pay $1/watt for a clean amp. you will get what you pay for.

I bought a Pioneer from a buddy to put into my 2006 Tahoe... My truck has an anti theft connection to the stock radio, and we do not know how to or where to connect it to the wiring harness on the unit. Where do I find the schematic to match my stereo to my truck? Do I need a special harness? I came out of my friend's BMW but he did not give me the harness, just the one that comes on it.... I don't want to get stuck in some parking lot somewhere... Thanks!
