About an hour later it dawned on me of the 2 wires I didn't use 1 was the dimmer and the other not thinking it was needed I taped up and paid no attention to. Simple 5 minute fix pull deck out strip wires twint n tape and done sound from all 9 factory speakers. On Saturday I spent the day hacking up a computer case to make mounting rings for the Clarion 6.5 m/b in the doors. For some reason the factory 6.5s have 3 tabs around the outside for the screws into the door maing them about 1/2" too far out to screw in the clarions. I have the wood rings from the cavi but no clearance under the factory grills to raise them without hitting. Unlike the cavi there is just enough room behind to just squeeze them in. Will get some pics next weekend hopefully as they need to come out to be finished. Fronts were blown and couldn't hear the music over the noises they were making so these are just in temp for now.

That is because the factory size is a 6.75. GM oversizes many of their 6.5" too. Lots of aftermarket 6.5 speakers come with adaptor rings because of it.

Nice to hear you got your tunes functioning.....

Sounds like 1/4" would do the trick for the rings......

Driveways almost open.....just waiting for the pack ice to melt.....

I didn't have anything suitable in 1/4" but I do have lots of old computer cases at my disposal so I made custom steel rings for now. Very ghetto and not very solid yet, just slap it in so it makes music and not horrid crackling from the stockers. Running off factory amp right now so vibration noise is not an issue yet. When I kick them back up to 230 per side is going to change quite a bit. LOL Next is figuring out if my tweets are able to be mounted in the factory pods on the doors, and if they will sound any good there. They are pointed too far down, drivers side is pointed at your right knee. I will be doing pods for these and will have tweet in it once done. I love doing audio on these style Chryslers, deck trim pops right off 4 screws and out everything comes. Normal antenna plug no stupid mini GM that needs an adapter. Dash kit from Walmart 14.97 comes with factory wiring diagram. Decided not to go with the wiring adapter as it was too much. Ultimately only the 3 power wires will be needed and I trust my twist n tape jobs to last. The front door grills pop right off as well and if it weren't for the oddball mounting system they used it would be a snap to install any 6.5s in no time. No issues with factory amp, hook up front and rear speaker leads from deck and after I remebered it the remote on wire and all 9 speakers work no problem including the center channel in the middle of the dash right up at the window. It is a true center channel too we checked and the balance does not affect it. The cheap stuff is done and now have to start looking for bargains.
1) Power wire and fuse 0ga x20'
2) Amp for sub 500-1k @ 2ohms
3) Build box for my free AB XD-12

Opinion time.....

Should I go sealed or ported?
Doesn't need to be really loud 134-6 db is fine but it must go low. I want to have the feel of 20-30hz in the back of the seat again so I am pretty much decided on big power and a sealed box.

Very cool having a center channel, how do you like it? Planning on keeping it stock/upgrading it/rip it out?
So if we manage to get our 5.1 up and running before we meet up at a comp, we'll have a 5.1 129.9 rubber match

Sealed or ported --Bro, the sq in your cavi was awesome. I gotta agree with your decision... keep it sealed if it means better sq
