Talking New car, new project, new question.

I have a new project goin. It isn't my car but one of my friends. I love the fact that all my friends come to me when they have questions about their car audio (and some how some 35-45 year old dude found out about me and wants me to come over and check out his truck's speakers). But it kinda sucks cuz they are like "My stuff comes on thurs when can you install it?" or "I am picking up the wood tomorrow can you start makin the box any time soon?". But what ever it is good practice.

THE QUESTION
One friend has a 2003 buick lesabre custom. He gave me a price and said he wanted sound quality but more boom. I picked out two MTX 10" 300W 4 ohm subs and an Infinity 600W at 2 ohm amp. Also a 4 guage wiring kit and he had already ordered the HU without my opinion (it has 2 volt preouts ). The battery in the car is under the seat. At first i thought this made wiring extremely easy but then i thought that the stock wires to the alt might not be good enough. Do you think he will need to upgrade the stock wires if he has a 600W amp? I would have to say the stock wires are around 4 gauge but that could just be insulation and even if this is true it is probly over 10 feet long and power for the engine and everything else is also traveling through this wire. Thanks for the help.

I would say that you prolly won't have to upgrade the factory wiring. The amp you have will prolly not even pull 50 amps of current. I think you are alright.
