New stereo install help

Well I'm not sure what it was. But I tried the speakers straight from the radio harness and they worked so I went and bought some smaller speaker wire and re ran it. All works now. Maybe I was running to heavy of wire, idk. Thanks for all your help tho, preciate it

No such thing as to heavy a wire my friend. I dont know either but im glad it worked. Your welcome.

I ran 14 gauge wire, I wouldn't think it would it would have any effect on it but regular speaker wire did the trick

Its a mystery for sure... I think your 14 gauge was open somewhere either a bad splice/connection or somewhere else. All a bigger wire does is create less resistance. Picture a highway... 24 gauge is a 2 lane... 18 is 3 lanes... 14 is 4 lanes.... down to good ole 1/0 awg which is like 20 lanes.... lol

I gotcha. That's my guess too. I might of sliced inti the insulation of the wire while I was pulling it through the door. It has like the rubbery insulation covering it, I could see me doing that.
