new sub amp set up

new sub amp set up

ive got my amp and sub wired up

im running it off a sony cdx f7500

ive got amp+sub wired to 2 ohm

as my head unit is 2v ive tried setting my amp gain to match as its a digital amp i can see what the gains are on the lcd but it doesent have a 2.0 setting only

0.1/0.2/0.3/0.4/0.5/0.7/1.0/1.5/2.5/4.0/8.0

ive set it to 2.5 as its the closest to 2v but isnt very loud (the subs hardley moving) the head unit bass is set to none eq off sub on full

amp bass eq off
lp filter 85 (theres no 80)
subsonic filter 15hz
lp slope 24db

can any one tell me how to get the bass up and the sub moving

links not working right
sub is a alpine type r 1242d newest model

amp is alpine mrd m605

do i need to work out the target output voltage o my amp ??? and use a multi meter ?

crank your deck till its loud enough for you ( speaker wize ) then turn up the gain the the sub amp till you hear distortion. then bring it down a notch. should do the trick and its easier than a MM. also your LPF does a big part on how loud it will get. cause a badly tuned sub just wont go loud.

try setting the amp to 1.0 or less...that deck probaly puts out, 2volt peak, probally like .5 to .7 rms....and use the bass eq on the amp, you can always adjust the bass level at the head unit if its too boomy
