Problem with Alpine KCA-410C Aux unit

I just finished installing my system into my truck with a friends help but I am banging my head trying to figure out this problem. I can't get the KCA-410 to access any of the plugged in devices...(although it does recognize the changer..just won't play anything)

Headunit: Alpine iDA-X001 -I have adjusted the switch on the back of the iDA-X001 to EQ.

Feeds via AI-net cable to Alpine KCA-410C under rear seat of crew cab truck.
Plugged into the KCA-410C is a CHA-S634 Alpine 6 Disc Changer (via AI-net cable) It also has plugged into it the sirius sat radio (via RCA) and the overhead DVD player (via RCA)

Orginally in the box the KCA-410C comes with a shorter cable. Since I wanted to hook in the KCA-410C in the rear under the seat I used the longer cable supplied with the changer (CHA-S634). I then used the supplied KCA-410 cable to run to the changer (since it is mounted to the back wall).

The problem is I am unable to the changer to play. It recognizes the changer (and cycles through the discs under start up. However it does not jump to a disc when asked to and does not play a disc. I also can not access either of the RCA plugged in devices. This should be pretty simply plug and play being Ai-net but it is not for whatever reason.

Any idea or thought? Are the cables different for both these devices? I thought an AI-net cable was an AI-net cable but I am starting to wonder.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

The switch should NOT be set to EQ.

Either you can connect external EQ OR all other devices, not both.

And the power has to be off when you switch.

Sorry..yes..the iDA-x001 is set to Normal. The unit recognizes the changer. It can shift disks between the changer but no sound. I am also not getting any sound out of either units plugged into the KCA-410c unit either. I am hoping the store can bring in another unit but as I am relocating to Ontario I am not holding my breath. It is either the KCA-410C or AI Cable I think.
