Question about wire gauge and wire length
#1
I'm looking for opinions here on what everybody's done with thier install.
When wiring up speakers from your amp.
1)what gauge do you use for your commponents, rears ,subs ?
2)Do you keep the lenghts even meaning do you say 20 ft on the left and if the amp is say 5 ft from the right do you still use 20 ft of wire for the right?
3)Obviously power wire must be keeped far away from speaker wire but can you run speaker wire with your signal wires (RCA pre-outs)?
Just curious I am in the process of building my system and need to get opinions on which wires to order.

power wire can be kept as close to speaker wire as you'd like really.. it's the input wires to the amps were the problems arise, cause any noise will be amplified along with the signal. For components i like to use 16 or 14 gauge.. and subs 12 gauge. You dont have to worry about keeping the lengths of wire equal, while in theory it makes sense, i've never actually heard a difference.
