reasonable quote?
I've been quoted on the following install, in an '03 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon:
Install front components w/ plastic spacers/door pins / everything needed to make them work.
Install rear coaxials.
Supply and install ~4sq/ft of door deadening per door.
Install head unit.
Install amp under driver's seat
Supply and install 4ga amp wiring kit w/ distro block for future sub install (Audison budget brand, i forget the exact name atm)
misc. shop supplies.
Anyhow, the quoted price was $675 canadian, taxes included.
This is a 'gauranteed' install for life, so if something becomes detached etc. it's taken care of... by a business that's been here a long, long time.
so, does the price sound reasonable, in your opinion, given the above?

why put amp under the seat?
the price is about right if you count supplies and parts needed to do the install. should not be more than 1 day (8 hours of work) most shops charge what? $60-$70/hr? + parts and stuff.
you might be able to save some money if you buy your own 4ga kit. they are a rip off from a store.

the 4ga kit is ~$100 off the shelf, in the store. I'm buying it for ~$60 ... they can work the numbers any way they want, as the labour is like 90% profit...
The amp is going under the seat because I dont want a visible amp in the back of the wagon.
At this point, i'm not interested in paying someone to do the under-floor install of amps and a sub back there, so... under the seats it is.
The whole false floor thing may come later, we'll see how the HSK-165's sound first, powered by the LRX2.4 under the seat
for reference, the rea coaxial (matching the front components) will be powered by the head unit, as they are strictly fill for the rear passengers when they are present.

Yuli, can you comment on the sound deadening at all?
is 4sq/ft per door a lot, or a little, or what?
... i don't even know IF it's required, but i've read nothing but 'do it' comments from subaru owners, so... i hate rattles, I dont want em

4sq ft per door is actually less than I would recommend. You have the door apart, why not do as much of it as you can while you are in there? Princess Auto has some killer pricing on 4 gauge kits every now and then in the surplus section.
