This is a wrx, weight is a concern to some degree.

I don't want to add 15lb's to each door, if it won't make a difference.
Do you actually think it will weigh as much as a person or something?

12sq ft minimum per door. and 675 from is kinda HI for the so little ur gonna get.. its not even a multi amp install..

i hope tho for that price that they are gonna rewire the speaker wires from the amp directly to the speakers in the doors and not at the deck

Sorry, thought I said i'm not interested in DIY, as i dont have room, tools, or experience available. And i don't want to learn on my new ride.

I'm thinking it's not a lot of money for a properly done install. Doing something right takes time, and is never, ever, ever the cheapest way to do it, imho.

Spoke with the installer again this afternoon, they use Ballistic deadening materials. Apparently not 'the best' but adequate for the price. Naturally, i'm getting a discount on it's msrp.

So in regards to the details of what he'll do, beyond a layer covering the panel, he suggested the next thing to do would be to add a little to the door skin itself, apparently there's a crash-brace that he'd put it over under there to start.

So, beyond that... what would be the next step? some kind of foam to 'seal' the doors?

uh, who do you know that weighs 60lbs?

I dont have any experience with sound deadener, but i'm assuming it starts to add up fast in weight.

tell them you dont want their deadener, you are better of getting some quality stuff on your own and just gettting them to put it on.
