Friend won't listen, here is the simple solution, by Rob.

(1) tell him that you will give him a live demonstration for this issue.
(2) get him to volunteer to help you with it.
(3) get him to promise not to struggle.
(4) wrap your hands around his throat and choke him until he darn near passes out (or until you think he gets the drift).

The power and grounding of an amp is the same thing. If you cannot get air to your lungs, you will pass out. If an amp cannot get power, it will do things like go into protection.

<disclaimer> I do not recommend that people actually do this but it is very funny when your installer is in on it and you use him as a guinea pig to show the customer.

Nothing wrong with splitting a single power run as long as it is of sufficent gauge.

Exactly. 1 4 AWG to the back to a DSITRO BLOCK to 3 runs of 8 AWG should work.
