if 400 watts is dimming headlights there may be an electrical issue (this could be car or stereo related)

when the headlights dim;
1 is the car running
2 who did the install
3 how old is the car/ battery (what size)

no! a cap will only make things worse for you. think of it this way, the caps job is to supply you with a jolt of power when needed. if your electrical system is already weak then the cap is going to do what it is designed to DRAIN YOUR BATTERY. it doesnt know when to stop sucking power. id try getting a rebuild alternater or a HO if your going to add more amps or subs. just remember abattery and cap are only storage devices, your power is generated by the alt.

Its a 2003 Trialblazer.

My amp is 800 Wat Max its a pieneer amp and Dimond D9 Sbu 1600 wat max it only dims when there is heavey bass and I Have it cranked way up and the car is running I Noticed it last night while I was parked at a red light also when I turned on the interoir lights they where dimming too. Its pretty loud for a 400 wat amp.

I think the battery is an older smaller size one, I remeber when we got the truck I thought it was pretty small for a SUV

it WILL improve your electrical system by quite a bit. you battery will charge faster. go pick up a 4awg wiring for your amp and buy about 14ft of 1/0 for your big 3, dont forget to buy ring crimps
