Does anyone know where I can find some info on the Soungate ICB? I've found it mentioned in a few threads on here, but all the links are dead. My search of the web has turned up empty.

Any info on this device would be appreciated or something that is along the same lines.

I can't find anything on their web site either.

Soundgate Web Site

I am looking for a 300 amp breaker, but this Soundgate sounds interesting, plus it seems like 300 amp breakers are nowhere to be found.

Thanks for any help.

Brad

Thanks Dereck,

I have read from earlier posts that you have one. Did you ever get it installed? If you did, how do you like it?

Are there any other options for a 300 amp breaker that would be similar to the ICB?

The 1/0AWG ANL fuse holder that I have now will work but the thing is huge and doesn't look good under the hood to me.

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks Dereck,

I've been in contact with Soundgate and I am trying to decide which ICB meets my needs. Do you happen to have the dimensions of the one you have?

I am running three amplifiers that in total can draw 240amps full out. Realistically that will probably never happen.

Soundgate has suggested that I go with the ICB250. The ICB250 has the following specs.

Continuous current (amps) - 150
over current disconnect (amps) - 250
short circuit disconnect (amps) - 500

The only worry for me is the continuous current rating, but that is the one they have suggested.

If you could possibly get the dimensions of your ICB for me, that would be great.

Thanks,
Brad

The ICB250 heatsink is 2 1/4" tall and 4" square. When you add in the input and output bus bars and the mounting flange its overall size goes to 5 3/8" (4" + 1 3/8" buss bars) by 4 3/4" by 2 1/4" tall.

150 amps continuous would be significant, many who burp @ 150 db dont use that much power for 3 sec

Thanks Monster. Now at least I can measure it up and make sure everything fits.

JohnVroom,

Yes 150amps is a significant amount of power, but I was talking to MTX tech support and they said that the sub amp I am running (81001) will pull 160 amps full out. (I am running it at 1ohm) Then I still have 2 other amps in the system. I was just a little concerned about the ICB's spec's.

Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for the info guys. I bit the bullet and ordered an ICB250 with optional monitor/remote today.

Can't wait to check it out !
