speaker placement question
hey is it a faux pas to have a couple of speakers at like 90 degrees from each other side by side? or no?
what im thinkin of doin is makin kicks for my car, but it has door mounted 6.5s as well would there be any kinda SQ issues related to having the speakers positioned this way?
i wanna end up with 4 speakers up front, and 4 in the back plus subs.....lemme know if this is a bad idea or not, thanks

you can do anything you want. the only problem is phaseing. you are just going to have to play with your **** until you get it right. do you still want the the PPI stuff? by the way?

yea i still wanna go PPI, but the whole budget thing...... could make things a lil tougher....
what i really wanna know i guess, is will a setup like that make things harder to get a nice clean clear sound? or am i gonna have to use EQs and processors out the a$$ to do it?

Your best bet is going to be to use the door mounted speakers as just midbass speakers. Use a good crossover to let them play say 500 Hz to 2500 Hz. Then let your kicks play 2500 Hz and up. Instant no cancelation and no phasing problems either.
But remember kicks should point up and towards the drivers ears (or center of car if going for flat frequency responce) not at 90 degrees to door.
