i put a autostart remote start into a 02 focus and and when i go to remote start it the starter drags on for about 2 seconds after the car has started??? ive reprogrammed tach several times and it accepts it all the time. is there anywhere else i can get a tach signal besides the plug on the passenger firewall

 

You may want to look into the amount of time that the autostart holds the starter engaged.

My Viper has settings for how long it engages the starter. It is adjustable in 10ths of a second I believe.

Totally different then what the tach sensor is used for.
