Static hum after install

Static hum after install
I finally put everything together and it sounded great until I lowered the volume of my deck. That is when I noticed a strong hum in one speaker and not so strong in the other three.
Basically, I installed a 4 channel amp powering all 4 speakers and a 2 channel amp powering my subs. The subs are fine but I can't seem to get rid of the static noise from the speakers. The funny thing is that when I don't start the engine and have just the stereo running, the sound disappears. When I start the engine, the sound returns.
I tried fooling around with the settings on the 4ch amp and noticed that when I set it to 1+3/2+4 mode, the sound almost disappears. Should I leave it this way? Also, what could be causing the noise?
Thanks!

Try moving the grounds .... deck and amp. RCA's could also be picking up the noise. You can check that by running a set straight from your deck to the amp. Straight across the vehicle between seats on top of center console. If the noise stops, noise is entering the RCA's. Try to move them from any other wires, or else put loom around them. If it's not the RCA's then it's likely a bad ground..
Good Luck!

I ran a new set of rca cables directly from the deck straight to the 4ch amp and i still get the same noise. I then switched the grounds from the 2channel and 4 channel amp and still the same thing.
I'm not sure but I don't think I was having this problem when i just had the one amp connected (4ch). To the best of my knowledge, the noise appeared after I installed the 2 ch amp for the subs. I split the 4 gauge wire with a distribution block to 2 8 gauge wires going to the amps. I then ran a remote wire from the 4ch amp to the 2 ch amp. I grounded the 2 ch amp as well (obviously). The ground wire for the 4 ch amp is 4 gauge while it is 8 gauge for the 2 ch amp. Would this make a difference?
If I can't figure it out, is itr ok to run the 4ch amp in 1+3/2+4 mode?

Many a people, myself included have thanked the heavens above for this fix after many hours of diagnosis to no avail. In my case the problem did not show up until I added my second amp...just like you.
