Subwoofer and More than enough watts
DUH! it recently hit me why my system was quieter than his. I was running an 8 ohm sub so i wasn't getting the full 300w. (i was supposed to buy a 4 ohm but they gave me an 8 ohm sub instead) now it makes sense. woooo, thats funny.
that is exactly what i did. And i didn't notice much difference, but one of my friends did. First i bought one sub thinking it was a 4 ohm (but it wasn't) and my friend bought two of the same subs and his were 4 ohm. He wanted to upgrade his system so i bought both of his for $70 + my sub. I had one 4 ohm sub hooked up for a few days and when one of my friends got in my truck he was like, did you do something to your system? It sounds louder. So there must of been some kind of difference
i have always been a big believer in over powering subs to make them as responsive as possible and having lots of head room. Not to mention, you can turn your gains down and not amplify all the signal noise!
