4x6 or 4x6 components, however you can get an adaptor plate to get 5.25" spkrs in there

You can fit a 6.5" in there easily enough. You can get an adapter for this but I would recommend you make your own out of MDF. You will need to trim a bit of the metal but it's definitely worth it.

The largest I could fit was a 5.25 set in my 2000 Cavalier front doors...atleast that's what my installer said. So he cut the metal out and screwd the 5.25 set in. So mine wasn't used with an adapter.

I am currently running a set of 6 1/2 in my sunfire, I had to make the adaptor out of MDF because the plastic adaptors didnt fit properly. 5 1/4 are a much better fit for the sunfire, but 6 1/2's will work fine if any good with a jigsaw. The problem with the 6 1/2's is that ack of the door panel will be close to speaker cone. I used 3/4 MDF and have no problems. lot of guys from j-body.org have had alot of luck with the infinity refrence series.

Again, any half decent installer can put a 6.5" driver in the door of a Sunfire with no problems. For the guy who was told a 5.25" was the biggest that could be fit in there he needs to get a new installer.
Putting the biggest drivers you can fit up front is rarely a bad thing.
