two tens, one twelve, one amp?
two tens, one twelve, one amp?
i am looking to run a pioneer premier 1000w rms 12", along with two kicker 10" L7's 2004 model, on a pyle 4600w mono amp. anyone see a problem? would the amp handle the two tens on channel 1, and the 12 on channel 2? im not 100% sure on the wattage of the 10's, (2004 kicker S10L7).
thanks
thanks
Mixing subs is never a good idea. Stick with the 2 10" L7's. Also, that amp is super suspect. If it actually has 2 channels, then there is no way you could run any of those subs efficiently.
Stick with the L7's, sell the Premier and the Pyle amp, and get a good one channel, monoblock to power them.

Driver 'A' has a given response curve, created by it's design and interaction with it's enclosure.....certain frequencies are louder and some are quieter than others....not by much hopefully but there are variances.
Driver 'B' has a different curve because of it's design and enclosure requirements....again not by much but when you add them up it creates peaks and valleys in the overall response curve. These are audible, how much depends on what frequencies the interactions occur at.
If they are sharing common airspace inside a box the effects are even more pronounced.....the drivers (especially if they are different sizes) move at dissimilar speeds and different amounts of motion (think Xmax numbers) with the same signal.
Basically the bass will be muddied and sloppy sounding....it may be marginally louder but the overall effect is not worth it.
If you have to wire 1 driver to one side of a 2 channel amp and the other 2 to the 2nd channel you will also add the problem of an unbalanced electrical load on the amp to the other issue......the impedance rise on 1 side of the amp will always be different and will eventually shorten the life of the amp. It is not possible to fix this even with separate gains controls for each channel as the rate the impedance changes will never be the same.
If you have 2 identical subs and an odd-ball you are better off selling the oddball and using the funds to help pay for a better enclosure for the 2 you are actually using.

No not even close, for starters even IF your subs wired down to the exact same load which is highly unlikly cause just cause its a dual 4 or a dual 2 does not mean that is exactly a dual 4 or 2 or w/e. Second your 2 subs are going to have different impendance rise while under power. When power is applied to your subs the impendance can and will fluctuated quite a fair bit, add ontop of that they are a differnt size and also 2 vs 1 and well its just a bad idea.
another reason u dont run different size and brands on top of that is that it will sound like crap AND u will look like a total dork showing it off. thats to ghetto man go with ur 10's or just ur 12.. try different boxes with both sets.. sealed and ported
