I want to bridge my 4 channel amp and use it to power the front stage here's what I plan to do. I will use the front pre-out from the deck, the right feed to channel 1 and 2 and left feed to 3 and 4. I will use one of these for each side

is this the proper way??

Many 4ch amps have a 2ch switch so you don't need splitters.
Ater using more than a handfull of 4ch amps in 2ch mode I have found that without the 2ch switch it is worth experimenting with slitters to see if they provide a difference.

I just dug out the manual for my amp and it suggests using RCA splitters

would you need to match the front and rear gains with a scope?

Ya I just set the gains by ear. I also set the cross-over to high pass 120hz and above, I still have a little tweeking to do, my sub is still wired for 8ohn I will rewire this weekend for 2ohm and do my final tuning. So far this setup sounds sweet!!!!

i think i'm confused.. if i were to use my 4 channel amp to power 1 pair of speakers, i'd use 2-ch input, and bridge the front and rear channels, while keeping stereo left and right, but since the rear and front channels both have seperate gains, connected to the same speaker.. wouldn't it be cruicial that i keep them exactly the same?

otherwise i'd have more power from say the front than the rear, but both signals going to the same speaker.
sounds like trouble..
