Using both High Level and Low Level on same amp

I have my new HU installed. My speakers, subs and 2 amps are going in as well. My new HU is currently connected using a wiring harness and there is no amp just muy HU running my current speakers

I am going to swap out all the old speakers and add components to the front, coaxials to the back and a sub. 2 amps will be pushing everything.

I spoke to someone who does installations for a living today and was confused because he told me to run both high level and low level outputs to the amp running my speakers and not to run new speaker wires throughout the car (newer car which came with a good wiring setup). At first i was skeptical but the guy does this for a living and is a head installer at a shop thats been around for close to 20 years. He told me to cut out certain wires from the wiring harness (remote and speakers) and run them directly into the amp. It was a huge monster cable with 9 wires within including the remote wire. The rest were my speaker wires. Now he also told me to run the RCAs to the low level on one amp and the low level from the SUB to the other amp.

I just dont see the purpose in having both and in some cases i've read that it's actually not good for the amp to have both running.

I think there was some confusion. If you're running rca's from your deck to the amps, then there is no reason to run speaker level(high level) outputs to the same amps. Maybe he was suggesting you use one of the amps pre-amp outputs (if it has them) to connect to the other amp for the subwoofer...this saves you from having to run another set of rca's, but is only useful if your head unit has no sub woofer outputs, as you have no control over the sub woofer level( unless you have a separate remote sub control connected to the amp).

As far as using the stock wiring, there's nothing wrong with that as long as the wires are sufficient to do the job(handle the power) and they are properly connected using either an adaptor or solder and shrink tube...I used my stock wiring for my set up with excellent results. Sometimes the extra work required to re-wire a vehicle is not necessary, and quite frankly can be a big pain in the *** for little to no benefit, especially when good stock wiring is right there.

Thanks for the help but while i was lying in the bed last night i kind of figured it out.

He was telling me to go into the low level inputs into the amp using the rcas but cutting my wires from the wiring harness (only speakers) and using those wires to go into my speaker outputs on the amp. Might not makes sense as i'm writting it but makes sense in my head lol.
