Vacuum formed plastic kicks
Vacuum formed plastic kicks
My boss has the equipment to vacuum form kick panels and door panels, does anyone think there would be a market for pre-formed kick panel fronts, or at least enough of a market to pre-make some to sell?
Q-Forms has made plastic kicks for years, if you want sound quality you had to spend hours making them stronger. They fit fine but were way too thin to sound good, they just plain moved to much. If you can make them very rigid so the mid/midbass was solid, I believe there would be a market.
I think there would be a market anyways. It doesnt have to be great to sell!!
I think Crappy tire, walmart, and other companies like that have proven that. There never is a shortage of people willing to cheap out and go the cheap way, instead of spending the money and doing it right. I think you may do quite well with thoes kicks if you have a good price point, and hook up with a few distributors.

You say 'kick panel fronts'. As in just the baffle area?

yeah dukk, something like those, only a little cooler, maybe 4 or 5 different styles, for different styles of tweeters and woofer sizes etc. maybe some 3 way kick fronts, ready to cut to shape and put a back on them.
obviously they would be as strong as possible, but there are limitations to the thickness of plastic that can be vacuum formed.
price point would probly be about 150/set
