I just bought 4 gauge welding at PA in Edmonton for a new ground in my daily driver. It was about $0.99 per foot, which isn't the best deal out there.

Anyway when I stripped the cover it was a bit GREEN and there were significatly less strands than any stinger product I've used. I figure the oxidation (GREEN) is from oxygen content in the cable. Leading to the assumption welding wire is not oxygen free.

FYI at Princess Auto this week welding wire is on sale. #2 for $0.99 and #1 for $1.19 a foot.

Oxygen free wire is marketing BS... all copper wire is virtually oxygen free to begin with....

Also, Iam sure there are different brands of welding cable with various #'s of strands.... I have philips 2awg and it is very flexable...

BUT... keep in mind that a higher strand count actually adds a little resistance and promotes oxidization-----&gt; even greater resistance/voltage drop....

PA in Edmonton must have old stock because my wire was quite corroded.

The wire was branded Copperfield. Has anyone else used this brand?

who says welding cable doesnt have the bling bling??? I got pink 1/0 cable in my car. I got 2 runs of it so im twice the bling bling u guys are.
I really do have pink 1/0 cable (the shop i got it from ran out of red)

If your gonna buy welding cable to use in your system, DONT BUY IT FROM PRINCESS AUTO!!!. Goto a WELDING SUPPLY SHOP and buy it.

Its like saying you went to Canadaian Tire, and bought your new 4000 Watt Mono block to power your new SPL system!! Get my point?
