what amp for my sub

hello , i have a 12" infinity perfect

http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...000FS11432121#

and i was wondering what amp i should mate it up to ? power wise

12" Die-cast Subwoofer, Aluminum Woofer Cone, 500W Power Handling
WebID: 11432121
Mfr. Part Number: PERFECT 12.1
Cone Material Drawn-Aluminum
Frequency Response 18 - 150 Hz
Impedance 4 Ohms
Power Handling Max 1400 Watts
Power Handling Nominal 350 Watts
Sensitivity 96dB

i would like to have it fully powered , power in the vehicle is not a problem i have plenty of alt and can add another one or one as big as 300 amps if need be . the sub is already in a box and is traveling solo .

also i came across a little bass controler aprox 1" -1" with a *** a led and a female plug for a telephone wire , what would i hook it up to ? an amp? it was in my parts jeep and i was like ooo shiney , and now i want to hook it up when i get an amp . thanks

DVC version is indeed dual voice coils. Pop the sub out of the box and look at it. A dvc sub is going to have two sets of inputs. Then and only then can a proper amp be suggested. It will take you a couple of minutes to check on what you have.

Since it is an SVC, then your best bang for your buck will be a 2 channel bridgable amp.

You will make the most of a typical mono amp with a 2 ohm load.
While you will the most a a typical 2 channel amp bridged to 4 ohm mono load.

Some reasonable amps within your price point that can be picked up nearly anywhere:

Kenwood KAC 7252 (500Wrms x 1 @ 4ohm) 2 channel Bridged
MTX TC 4002 (400Wrms x1 @ 4ohm) 2 channel Bridged
Rockford Fosgate P450.2 (450wrms x 1 @4ohm) 2 channel Bridged
Alpine MRP-M650 (400wrms x 1 @ 4ohm) Its a Mono amp. So you won't be able to make use of its full 600 watt potential unless you add a second sub.

Also, Check out the vendors on the site - they typically can offer more bang for the buck because they don't have the costs of a store-front.

I bought that sub this week from Future Shop also (on sale for $199!) and the guy installing my system for me is recommending this amp to drive it:

(Rockford Fosgate P325.1 mono amp)

This amp is $349 but Future Shop has so many sales that I figure I'll get it for $299 soon (we're not going to start installing everything until the weather warms up, so I've been buying my stuff a little bit at a time whenever it goes on sale)

Again as someone said earlier not the best amp for your sub. Look for a 400wrms bridgable 2 channel to maximize your amps output.
