what kinda box for heavy metal?

i still have the sub in it original box with the specs sheet.
so basically just use the box measurements the manufacturer supplied.

Ported 32 hertz has failed hardcore with my slipknot =( also started smelling burnt voice coil lol

13"H x 14"W x 15"D will give you 1.12 cubic feet, which after subwoofer displacement should give you roughly 1.08 cubic feet sealed

for heavymetal you definately want a small sealed box...too much fast snap and double bass as mentioned before to play in a ported box

ported is great for rap and crap that really has only several key frequencies
it'll give you good output.... but for music that has a wide range of sound that you need to be able to distinguish you need a sealed box

and also you want to stay around 0.7 cu ft plus displacement of sub with about 25-50% poly fill

he's playing metal not rap or reggae thats way too big for a 10" for rock/matal big sealed box will sound sloppy and uncontrolled

what would the use of poly fill be for?
