What went wrong?
Hey, I hooked up Sirius Satellite radio in my car a few weeks ago. I wasn't too happy about the sound quality from the FM transmitter so I went the Aux In route. I have an Alpine 9833 head unit so I had to buy an Auxiliary Input Adapter to hook it up. I carefully pulled my deck out and put the Aux Input adapter on. I slid it back into place and started up my car. My deck wouldn't turn on. So I check all the cables and everything seems to be fine, and it still won't turn on. Finally after messed around with it for a while I decided to stop and ask for help...well I turned off my car and tried to lock my doors....they won't lock! I don't know what is going on but if anyone has any clue as to what I just did during this "simple install" please let me know!
My car is a 98 Honda Prelude and i've never had electrical issues with it before.
Also, when my car is on...my locks work fine.
Thanks,

Yeah the manual locks work fine when the car is running...i turn off the car and it's a no go. I guess I'll have to bring it in to a shop...which i hate doing because they'll take forever to book me in and then try and tell me the only solution is to buy one of their head units...oh well we'll see

Im guessing you have keyless entry, if you do, with hondas you have to buy a "reverse wire harness". I'm not a 100% sure how the whole wiring would look because mine does not have keyless, just power locks. The weird thing though is if it worked fine before then that wouldn't make sense, so you probably just have a bad connection in one of those wiring harnesses. Good luck...

So I changed the fuse for the stereo and it's back up again! Now I can't seem to switch my stereo over to Aux In...I've got a 9833 and when I push "source" it just switches between CD and Radio. Anyone have experience with these head units? I read some kind of manual about plugging in an iPod but it said something about having it on the CD changer setting...which I've never seen.
I might make this another thread.
Thanks for your help guys.

Yeah thanks a lot for your help, it saves me from bringing it into a shop. I never think to check the fuses when something goes wrong...which I should be doing right away.
I'm reading more about the HU and it seems you have to turn it on...I might just have to mess around with it for a while.
Thanks again,
