if i use a 9v to my speaker wire so i can see what wire goes to my tweeters
will my tweeters be f###ed?

I use a AA battery with leads soildered on it to test speakers all the time. No problem at all what so ever

i find that a tone generator works best, specially for big vehicles were you can't really be sure if the noise is coming from the right or the left in the rear, the nice thing about a tone generator is that they come standard with aligator clips, so you atach to the wire turn it on and go muck around in the back of the vehicle and listen for what speaker you have noise coming out of, and they are fairly cheap around $40.

i know what side the wire goes to but i can not tell what wire goes to the mid /tweeter and i have not had time to try this yet
