I am not totally convinced on this matter. I have run amps bolted to the back of boxes a few times and never had a problem. If the amp had moving parts in it, then that wouldbe a different story, but since it's all solid state, I am not convinced that there would be a great difference if the amp were bolted right to the box, or bolted to a piece of MDF to the floor of the trunk, as far as seeing any more or less vibration fromthe subs..
All in all, I couldbe wrong though.

^^yes, it depends on how it's mounted and the build quality of the box. If the box is well braced and of sufficient thickness, then there won't be too much flexing of the panels to which the amp is mounted. I believe the transfer of this flexing causes the problems. Don't mount it on a large unbraced panel, try to mount it right above a cross brace.
