I got 3 10 inch subs and I'm going to be mounting them behind my seats in my Jetta.
What would be the best way to position them.
in a line or staggered?

I think in a row looks better.

you are probably right there, yet what about two on the bottom and 1 on the top like a triangle point?

What about mounting the amplifier on the same board. Normally I would not even consider it yet does anyone know what the implications would be to the amp?

Why would this be a no-no?

It has to do with the vibration the subs create, and it damaging the amp, or breaking a connectin loose...

I am not totally convinced on this matter. I have run amps bolted to the back of boxes a few times and never had a problem. If the amp had moving parts in it, then that wouldbe a different story, but since it's all solid state, I am not convinced that there would be a great difference if the amp were bolted right to the box, or bolted to a piece of MDF to the floor of the trunk, as far as seeing any more or less vibration fromthe subs..

All in all, I couldbe wrong though.

regards, Mark

As long as the amp is secured well you should be fine... just remember if it's mounted vertically it's not going dissipate heat as effectivly...

^^yes, it depends on how it's mounted and the build quality of the box. If the box is well braced and of sufficient thickness, then there won't be too much flexing of the panels to which the amp is mounted. I believe the transfer of this flexing causes the problems. Don't mount it on a large unbraced panel, try to mount it right above a cross brace.
