Oh yeah...you should go with the component set and not the coaxal set .
lol well the alpines that are in there just have a MDF adapter board... they didnt even need to cut any of the metal...but i tried putting in the Macroms and they didnt go.. lol im going to have to make a new MDF piece and cut some of the metal out, and i think it will hit the window the macroms have a mounting depth of 66 mm ... i dunno if ill fit them in

that sucks dude. I had mine modded so I could fit a 5 1/4 set in. Don't think I'll try and shove a 6 1/2 set in there...

Components in Cavalier doors

I have a 2000 Cavalier and the only issue you will have is the mounting depth of speaker. If you mount speaker to far out from door the surround of speaker may vibrate against door panel. If your speakers are to deep into door your windows may not go all the down when opening windows. Also there is a fair amount of moisture in these doors so put a foam hat behind each speaker. This will also help for keeping magnet from vibrating against window when open. I run a pair of 5-1/4 inch Eclipse co-axials in my car with adapter plate. I think they would accomodate 6-1/2" okay. The imaging on these speakers are pretty good and if you close your eyes and listen sound is up quite high. I have a set of components but have yet to put them in this application because of performance from co-axials. i hope this helps in someway. Cheers Brirat.
