Wiring dual 4 ohm to 1 ohm

I've been wondering for a while. I have 2 dual 4 ohm boss phantom 15s 1500 watt rms each and a phantom 5000 watt amp. Of course I want to get the most power so if I wire them to 1 ohm how will it affect the subs? Will they not last as long or should I just say it and wire them to 4 ohms?

the critical aspect of your setup is how to amp reacts to 1 ohm load. if its stable, do it. if your looking for more spl and want to rattle your ride do 1 ohm. if your looking for sq do 4ohm. but in all fairness 15" subs were made for more boom boom.

Just remember, your amp draws more power at 1ohm which tasks your electrical system.............................
