12" xcon dual 2 or dual 1 ohm?? help!

hi all,
i have a hertz hp1d amp to power my sub stage.
this beast does
750rms @ 4ohm
1400rms @ 2 ohm
2300rms @ 1ohm

im not sure which sub to get given my amp can power it just fine at both 2 or 1 ohm..
which is less taxing on the electrical system 2ohm with the gains turned up or 1ohm with the gains turned way down?
does the ohm load effect the sound quality at all?
i was originally thinking 2 12" icons, but at 5cu' ported i prob wont have room to mount the amp into the box. with a single 12" xcon in an optimal box of 2.75cu' ported i will have tons of room to spare. this would be lighter as well. not that it really matters for a 5000lb truck.
if you know the avalanche trucks at all, you know that the midgate between the truck bed and the cabin folds down. i want to maintain this feature. so i can carry sheet materials if i want to.

give me your ideas, thoughts please

thnx
Dan

if you have to electrical to back it up, i'd get a dual 2 ohm and wire it at 1 ohm. the xcon will take it all day.

Running at 2ohm would be less taxing to your cars electrical system, Watts is power the more power the more current... that said the avalanche probably has at least a 160amp alt and one large battery that should be alright.
