Okay. Let me know if I'm right or wrong with these questions...

Overview.. I have 2 amps and 2 D2 Subs.

1. To wire a 2100 HCCA to a single speaker do I use the Yellow wire and the Black Orange wire?
Left side Positive and Right side Negative? Then push the (Mono) button?

2. To wire D2 Subs in 2 Ohm. Do I run the Positive to Positive, Negative to Negative (Parallel)? Or Positive to Negative, Negative to Positive (Stacked)? Or should I just run them straight in 4 Ohm?

3. Why does my 4 channel Orion have only 3 channels of input??

4. How do I split my deck's Woofer output into 2 amps without loosing sound quality or power?

Thanks..

Just finished building the first box myself!! :D Bought the MDF from Home Depot and got it cut there to spec. Wood, Cuts, Glue and screws ($50)

why dont u get a newer amp? i have no idea what a 2100 HCCA amp even looks like lol.

and it probably isnt 3 channels of input, maybe 2 channels of input and 1 pass through channel if u are using 2 amps. (i could be way off)I really need some specs or pics of this amp, i'ven never seen it or worked with it.

you wire 2 D2 subs to 2 ohm like this

where did u find these peice of gear? i'd really consider a new sub amp

Father Yuli 05-17-2004 12:42 PM

wait wait, so u gonna run 1 amp per sub?

when u asked how to wire D2 subs to 2 ohm i assumed u wanted to wire 2 subs together. There is no way to wire one D2 sub to 2 ohm, it can only be 1 or 4 ohm.

Humvee2 05-17-2004 11:29 PM

Yes.. It's 1 amp per sub. I would assume the lower the ohm the better.. So 1 Ohm is louder right? I found the manual for the subs. I'll wire it parallel 1 ohm. I still have to find out how to bridge this amp though. I want the max out of it.
As for the amps, these are my personal preference. I stick with what I know, and I know these amps have made a reputation for themselves. It's .5 ohm stable. Not too many amps that I know of can handle that. Any how.. What would you recommend?

Questions 1. 3. and 4. still remain.

Father Yuli 05-18-2004 08:24 AM

oh i didnt know they are stable that low, my bad. Go right ahead and wire your subs at 1 ohm each and hook up an amp per sub. those amps should do some hardcore power so I would suggest a bigger or maybe even a second battery.

to split your decks output you just take a Y splitter to the rca's, since u are running the amp in MONO it shouldnt make a diff if you input left and right channel or just one. Or you can get a line driver with mutiple sub outs.

im gonna do some research on your amp and try to answer the rest of your questions.

a)you have no clue what you talking about?
b)you have no clue what your talking about because your car audio knowledge is all within the last 2 years?
c)your trying to confuse the heck out of him by giving him advice on product you seem to know nothing about?

Keep the amps they are great. They also look like they are in great shape.

The 2100hcca will draw alot of current

hmm let me put this in perspective:

a)you have no clue what you talking about?

-you are correct, i have stated that im totally clueless many, many times.

b)you have no clue what your talking about because your car audio knowledge is all within the last 2 years?

-you are correct once again!!!! I dont know anything, not even the last 2 years, not even the last week.

c)your trying to confuse the heck out of him by giving him advice on product you seem to know nothing about?

-OMG u must be a fortune teller. u are 100% correct once again!!! However, i was not trying to give him any advice on the product, i was just trying to confuse the heck out of him....u think it worked??

HA HA HA HA HA

Don't worry "slow/n\low " HA HA HA!! I know what I have!! I had the 2150SX for 10 years and it got stolen. So I upgraded to these! I went for these because I wanted them for over 14 years! I remember when they cost $3,500 US each!! BTW The pics of the amps were not of mine. I just found links to the amp on the net to show what I'm talking about.

HA HA HA!!! Still laughing!

Y Connector. My deck has 6.5 volt output. Would it drop it by splitting it?

Extra power source.

I have:
-2 interstate batteries,
-A MBR-70 battery regulator
-A 15 farad Alumapro C.A.P.
-Getting a D31T Optima Yellow top
0 Gauge from the yellow top on a 400 amp anl

So I'm real good for power..
I know Frank (20Hz) would know how to hook it up properly! He had these amps running the strokers in the Yellow astro before. I think he hit 173.4 if I'm not mistaken... But I got a quote from him last week and since have decided to do it myself... So he won't be too appreciative me asking info..!
I'd love to find someone with the manual. But if you can find out the info it would be amazing!!!
