Would like some help. New Equipment.
I have recently perchased an Alpine v12 MRV100M Amplifier, 2 10" pheonix gold subs, an MTX DUAL sledghammer 600 watts rms subwoofer unit, 2 MTX 6x9 speakers, 2 MTX 5.25 speakers, and a pioneer 6800MP deck.
My question is how many amplifiers should I have running this equipment. I already have the 1 Alpine and I am wonering if I need 2 more amplifiers to run the MTX subwoofer and the MTX speakers. |
did I read that right that you are running a pair of phoenix gold subs as well as a pair of mtx subs? or do you have the 2 phoenix gold subs in an MTX sledgehammer enclosure?
|
No I am running 2 pheonix gold subs and a pair of MTX sledgehamer subs.

hmmm well if you just want to get going you might be able to wire all 4 subs to the amp.... but it depends on the voice coil configurations... (what resistance are they? DVC?)
But, If you want to run 4 subs Id try to get 4 of the same...... also that amp isn't very powerfull and unforunatly you can't use it on mids or highs either.... Id probably aim for a single sub amp and a 4ch for the rest... |
What model are the subs?
That amp is not very powerful, you may have to look for something bigger. Also, mixing subs usually ends up sounding like crap. |
