Just wanted to say Hi to all my freinds and customers. After many good years at Speaker City then trying a rep postion (short term) with DLC. I decided to go back to installing.I am presently renting some space and installing at Heavy Metal in surrey.I dont usually have time to look on this forum as I am always consumed in work as you all may know. But I thought you should know im still around doing what I love Installing

Sincerly Ryan Sontowski

I've been in Hong Kong for so long now,(since '93) that I get lost for words when the conversation is entirely in English!
It's a different world over here, for cars as well as anything cultural. Last month saw well over C$ 1 million worth of cars through for install, and that's only counting the two new Bentleys. (Arnage T, and Continental GT)
The auto distributors here are so , that you've got to be creative in different ways, in order to avoid creating warranty problems on these high $$ vehicles. Anybody have to break into the CAN/BUS that's now an integral part of the European cars? Sort of an in-car LAN, that reacts badly to aftermarket equipment. The fiber-optic integration (notably Porsche and Benz) is another fun one. Despite the huge sums spent on the cars, most everyone wants to keep the trunk looking stock, while maintaining the maximum available space. Oh yeah, they also want a conspicuously expensive system in there somewhere.

Dave, I do indeed remember that little blue Micra. Wasn't it Focal separates in custom door panels, with sort of a lightning bolt theme that carried over to the mid-bass drivers in the rear side panels? I don't recall the amps, but at one point there was an AVI BP-250 band-pass enclosure in the hatch. I do recall laying down a few coats of rubberized undercoating damn near everywhere, with 1/2" of felt under the carpets, and flocking sprayed on all the reflective plastic surfaces.

Hey Mike! Don't laugh, Gord could probably AFFORD to hire me. I remember seeing dividend cheques on his desk back in the late 70's, with six-figure sums. His father left the family sitting pretty.

Any of you had a go at Bong's new amps? ABH-100 has recently gone into a Porsche Cayenne Turbo in my shop here, on MB and SW channels, with a nifty little tube amp on the dome mids and tw's.
(4x 6BQ5, PP, around 30 wpc) The OEM Bose sub is a tragic waste of polyprop. I get a good laugh every time I look on any Porsche/Benz etc message board, and read about these ground-pounding, concert-quality OEM systems.

By the way Dave, great looking work on the F1 system! Give my regards to James and the crew I might have know back then.
