12 Ways to Save Gas or Find Cheaper Gas

1. Internet

Some websites post real-time gas prices. You may find the cheapest gas price
around your region on the web:

GasBuddy.com
GasPriceWatch.com

2. Cell Phone

If you send your zip code (postal code) to some companies, they will notify you
the cheapest gas price in your region by text message.

For example, gas@gasbuddy.com or sms@mobgas.com can send you real time gas prices.
The service is free if your cell phone plan covers text messaging.

3. Buy gas-saving cars, such as GAS-ELECTRIC hybrid.

4. Convert your car to run on GAS-WATER hybrid. Check http://mrbeanauto.blogspot.com/ to
find out how to do it.

5. Try poor regions

The rich are not so sensitive to gas price changes as the poor. So usually gas prices in
poor regions are relatively lower.

6. Do not pour gas at gas stations close to highway or service bay.

7. The gas prices are more expensive at gas stations who provide maintenance service.

8. If you use Shell Mosaik MasterCard, you may get up to 5% cash back and other
discounts at Shell gas stations in Canada (annual fee is needed).

9. Save 2 cents per liter if you pour gas at Petro Canada using Citi Petro-Points
MasterCard. You also collect Petro-Points. (no annual fee)

10. Sometimes you pay less if you pay cash at gas stations.

11. Use coupons.

12. Participate car-sharing plans.

Nice post!, although I disagree with number 3, the car would be dead by the time the price of the vehicle was offset by the gas savings.

get a cold air intake and retune your ECU for gas saving. why have a chocking engine when it can run at its optimum stock capacity. lay off the gas peddle with it also since you have more HP and you will save on fuel.

^^^ wrong, your air box is designed for efficiency and noise... more air = more fuel

lay off the peddle and it will save gas.. a better burn cause by better air flow will use less gas if you use it the right way. on high way with cruse control on will save gas as its all controled by computer to find the right gas mileage and speed to retain.

an air box in my eyes is badly designed. corners everywhere and it keep warm air.. witch is roting your mileage away. cold air makes a better burn.

during winter my van has more pep due to cold air. and i do get better mileage. in summer i have warm air and right now i have less pep and i suck gas like a pickup truck

winter 29mpg summer 26mpg so i rather get a cold air intake and bring it up to 29 30 for summer. btw if i had a small car i wouldnt be thinking of these things and saving gas.

if you have a better way for it let me know cause im tired of filling my tank every 550k for 80$

Why do I have to save money on gas? Why is our government allowing such a high tax on gas. Why are we not producing our own crude (which we have a plethera of)

In this day, you NEED a vehicle. The government of Canada is saying that people are not having "families" anymore. Our population is declining and we'll have to "import" more people to sustain our populatin growth.

But, how the hell can you have a wife and two kids and drive a Smart????
How can you have more than one kid if you have to drive a Prius???

That's why they invented SUV's and Sport Ut's in the first place.

One one hand, the government says more babies, and on the other hand they say that they want you to drive a tuna can.

I say, Fvck the middle east and there high gas prices, lets focus on Canada and getting our country back in order and the gas prices down so people can live their lives instead of getting text messages about where the cheapest gas prices are.

well thats a good idea but quite hard to do lol. and the gas prices are coming down also. so its just a matter of time till it hits back the buck or lower. and as of variation in prices, here i have no problem with that since everywhere is 134.9 and still comming down.

the south end of ontario has it easy compare to up north lol also we have food price rising witch makes it even harder to live. i have a wife and 1 5yo and a baby on the way. i need my van lol and i just hope that the goverment starts helping us out a little more than just 10cents off gas .... i liked the 90's then gas and food were at resonable prices. 75cents a L and 200$ a food was able to feed a familly of 4 for a month

been calculating my fuel consumption for past 3 weeks.
I managed to get around 6.9/100km mostly highway and up to 7.5 mostly city driving, that's 4cyl 2.4. I guess my pos 12 year old nissan is a pretty good gas saver after all these years of neglect .
