Fried friend of mine here at work has 2001 montana and need brakes need to be replaced, I told her I would do them before I get into it, I would like to know what holds the braking system in place 2 bolts, 1 bolt? my 98 Sunfire Gt was 2 bolts but had Allan key style nut on the end.. if someone could let me know that would great

Thanks

Go to Canadian Tire, rip open a Haynes manual, check the brake replacement section, and then put it back on the shelf.

And it's likely 2 bolts (allen key head).
My Trans Am and Sunfire were both like this.

oh yeah should be 2 bolts as stated above ......... most chev's are allen head, but some of the newer cars use a torx head bolt

oh and I'd tell her since she's saving some coin by getting you to do it she can spring for the 20 dollar haynes manual

that way you'll have it available when you do other repairs to her car ........

or you can hit your local library as they usually have a selection of auto repair manuals on hand (at least mine does anyways)
Ha yeah, I wasn't about to put that much effort into it lol, I was pretty sure it would be allen key slot as well.. just wanted to double check she's got a **** load of tools soo I am sure I can find what I need, and yeah I always put oil/lube on the bolts before putting them back in gotte keep them working lol..

Thanks guys, oh yeah a special thanks to Orion for making he Job Much easier NOW!!!!

Didn't we just have a big thread about people not paying attention to proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation? Would YOU trust a mechanic that can't even spell the parts he's working on?

yeah, ur a d!ck...like other's have said spelling doesn't change anything on how that person operates!, as stated if you could read " I was at work on "BREAK" and totally spaced out on it! But your the perfectionist....

Go have a good day and remember to wipe off your face when your done!
