#1
Fried friend of mine here at work has 2001 montana and need brakes need to be replaced, I told her I would do them before I get into it, I would like to know what holds the braking system in place 2 bolts, 1 bolt? my 98 Sunfire Gt was 2 bolts but had Allan key style nut on the end.. if someone could let me know that would great
Thanks

when you put em back on be sure the bolts are cleaned off good and apply a small amount of grease to them as they are the pins that the caliper slides(floats) on
oh yeah should be 2 bolts as stated above ......... most chev's are allen head, but some of the newer cars use a torx head bolt
oh and I'd tell her since she's saving some coin by getting you to do it she can spring for the 20 dollar haynes manual
that way you'll have it available when you do other repairs to her car ........
or you can hit your local library as they usually have a selection of auto repair manuals on hand (at least mine does anyways)

Didn't we just have a big thread about people not paying attention to proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation? Would YOU trust a mechanic that can't even spell the parts he's working on?
