Need help and I dont care about you people that hate Cavaliers and Sunfires or whatever I'm not looking for insults and car bashing responses. Cars a car to me and I just so happen to like the style of these.

A guy says to me he has an 88 Z24 for sale for $1,200 certified (i paid that for my 87 z24 2 years ago with 110,000 k on it 5speed) My car currently has 124,000 k and his that he's selling has 230,000 k I know these cars are almost pretty much crap after 200,000 k. Kid says pretty much no rust, has a 90 z24 interior with a digital dash like my 87. Exterior is black with painted black body kit. (the factory one) it needs a grill (which i can get easy) and some 'interior trim' not sure what he meant by that exactly. He redid some body work himself. His reason for selling is he can't afford the insurance on it. They were tryin to swing him for $750/mo I pay around $250/mo on mine. I recently decided I'm not taking my car to school because it gives me to much greif. Plus I hate driving a standard in the winter in a busy city especially after my accident. His car is an automatic and would basically be a car to get me from point a to b as I'm going to be getting a part time job during school in the fall in Oshawa so I'll need a way to get there other than the bus (bus people especially in that city scare me)

The guy says it runs mint. May need new struts in a year, needs 4 tires (which I will get him to cover), needs front pads (especially to certify which is the $200 on the $1,200 price so $1,000 without certification) I have no idea nor does he if this car would pass an E Test. 2.8l V6 of course. He said the floor was patched before he owned it. 1 rip on the carpet the rest of the interior is ok.

Has a sunroof, power windows power locks. He says it needs a valve cover gasket but he would do that. black interior as well.

Any opinions?

It's a $1200 headache.
Thats what im thinkin.. He did a lot of work to restore it which is all those repairs mentioned above. I'm lookin for a cheap automatic car to take to school cuz i cant stand not havin a car and the car i have now is giving me headache after headache. But I also dont want a piece of **** or something that will give me more headaches you know? If anyone knowz anyone sellin a cheap car thats in good shape n wont cost me a crap load to fix and such lemme know as well. I'm gonna take a look at the car, can't really tell until u really see for urself right? Just wanna know if anyone that lives in my area would be interested in accompanying me so the kid doesn't try n lie and I'm not the smartest for looking for every little detail of whats wrong with it and such

I would look for a VW Rabbit from 82-84 or late 80's Honda for a cheap reliable car, but of course cheap and reliable don't usually go together.
I'd go VW before I'd go Honda lol

I'd go with a rabbit Cool looking cars when they're in good shape.
