adding 5th ATA drive to motherboard...options?
#1
For the longest time i've had some ultra ata66 controller card. I'm not sure why i needed it, but i just remember it didn't work with the hard drive i was try'n to run thru it for whatever reason, neither me nor the computer place (like 6 years ago could get it working).
But now, i'm at the point where an 80gb and 60gb hard drive isn't enough. I see you can do 200gb harddrives for like $150 (i paid about 450 for my 60gb back in the day). My motherboard doesn't support SATA cause i didn't have the extra $70 to spend at the time.
I realize that ata 66 controller probably isn't ideal....but would it actually work (i've never seen it work) or does anyone else have another solid option? (i am considering dropping....****...wait that drive is a dvd-rom not just a cd-rom...ok guess i'm not dropping that drive (crap).
What are my options and or your suggestiosn?

mainly music and movies.....1 or 2 games, and surely there's some **** in there.
Alright, maybe i'll try another harddrive over this controller (when i get $170 for a harddrive) and see if i can make it work and see all of the hard drive.
