My time with absolutely zero exercise was 4:09. I had no issues with the weights at all, my 220 pounds threw the weights around with ease. My first 3 circuits on the course were bang on between 26 and 31 seconds, circuits 4-6 were way off time, hence the need to run and improve my cardio. I want to shave off at least 30 seconds if not more from my time. The best time for a serving member that tested the same day was 3:35. Many of the officers doing thier annual retest came in behind my time and some of them under my time. Since this exam I have been in the gym 4 days a week and run about 2km a day, more if time allows.
As far as where I would be posted, I could really care less. I actually hope for a small town in the middle of nowhere that no-one else wants to go to. You are paid the same amount of $ and the cost of living is far lower. Chances are if I make it to depot and graduate, I would be coming back to BC. Chances are the lower mainland, who knows. Somewhere that I could pick up a part time sales/install job would be nice just to keep my hands in the biz.

I like flied lice, I speak prefect Engrish. I have not been to the Yaohan Center (whatever it may be) and I can always learn Chinese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjab or whatever the job necessitates. None of these questions came up on the exam.

I forget where I heard this, but apaprently, some cops got a confession out of a guy by hooking him up to a "lie detector" that was really just a photocopier with a piece of paper that said "You're Lying" and hitting the print button every time they thought he wasn't telling the truth.

So your time was??
31 seconds per lap...6 laps...= 186 seconds or 3.06 minutes. Then a minute for the push and pull...that puts you at 4.06. You need 4.00 to graduate from Depot...yeah that is gonna be close. Not making fun or pokin at ya, but I just find it hard to see people running the PARE at over 4 minutes. I see it all the time and it just gets hard to watch. But once again, these are younger people and they aren't as focused as you I am sure, so you will do it. Good luck..if you come out of Depot under 3 minutes on the PARE you get a special recognition Shoot for that!

Oh, and as far as training for the PARE, it is best to do anearobic exercises (sudden bursts of energy). Do a lot of circuit training or sprints. I do 12 mph for 45 seconds and then jump off the treadmill for 15 seconds, then back on. Do that about 10 times and you should be good to go. A big part of succeeding at the PARE if preparing yourself for the sudden up and down movements you will be doing for the vault. Just tends to mess with your head and disorient you more than anything. I find that to be the hardest.

Well aware of what I need to do on the Pare but it never hurts to have opinions as well. I am a highly active competitive volleyball player at the same time, this is one of the best sporting activities one can do in preparation for the PARE. Having not seen the PARE and watching others fail before me, it gave me that extra little push to do what I needed to. A 4.0 or under must be had in the first week of depot (or you are going home, simple as that) and at graduation. At present you must score under 4:45 to pass, however if you do not have a 4:15 or under, you are not headed anywhere except to the gym until you can get under 4:15, then and only then would they forward you to depot. The pressure alone at depot infront of your peers and troopmates would necessitate the extra burst of energy to get that time down again. I would like to shoot for a 3:30 area, better if I can, but 220 pounds does not move like a 160 person does no matter which way you cut it.

Lap times were:
(1) 26
(2) 26
(3) 31
(4) 35
(5) 37
(6) 37
Total is 192 seconds or 3 minutes, 20 seconds. This put me at 1 minute, 1 second for the push / pull and controlled falls. (the falls were a beyatch after that run). I flew through the push / pull machine, darn near pulled it off the wall actually.

and did they try ****ing around with you and asking you questions like
"have u ever wore womens underwear"
"have u ever thought about gay sex"
anything like that...because god knows I would if I was the polygraph tester?
