Any one know how to...

Refill a printer cartridge so it works again... ?

I noticed that I can buy a new lexmark printer for $5 more then the ink cartaradge it comes with

So I decided to try and cheap out and bought a refill kit... I tried it on two or three different cartridges and have got results...

I tried soaking the tip in what smelled like propyl alcohol supplied with the kit and still got crap....

should I try acetone & compressed air to clean these things out or what ?

Ya Ive actually thought about going lazer before... not only are they a better quality print but they are also very handy for circuit board prototyping without having to clog up the photocopiers at school with gloss card stock

About how much do toner cartridges run ???

As far as the ink cartidges for my lexmark.. I think the issue is that they are clogged to ... I will try soaking them in water and maybe acetone and try blowing them out...

If that dosen't work Iam giving up

well I really don't hand anything in with fancey graphics or anything.. its all black and white lab reports, research papers, and sometime essays....

BUT- I got a pimp digital camera just before christmass and a lazer would be awsome for making high quality prints...

Anyway right now I have two slow *** lexmark Z33's and I think a Z11 somewhere....

10N0016 is the black cartridge and 10N0026 is the color and I'm currently trying to fill the black one....

We used to get our cartridges refilled for $5.00 . Now some a$$hat bought up the company that was doing it, started to sell off franchises for $70K and made a couple of million doing it. We now pay $20.00 for the same thing. Island Ink Jet, based here in town.

aint that the way it goes...

The thing that gets me is the cartridges are like $45-$80 + tax when all you really need is $1 worth of ink...
The do it yourself refill kits are also overpriced at $35++ for a few 1oz bottles of ink...

Anyway, there must be some trick to cleaning these fing things out.... and I wish I knew what it was.. lol...
